Schedules (SCH): Pipe wall thickness is specified using schedules (e.g., Sch 40, Sch 80), where a higher number indicates a thicker wall.

Main Types of Steel Pipe

Carbon Steel(CS): The most common type (approx. 90% of production), favored for its strength, affordability, and versatility in oil, gas, and structural applications.
Stainless Steel (SS): Contains chromium (10-20%) and other alloys (e.g., Nickel), providing high corrosion resistance for chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
Alloy Steel Pipe: Includes additional elements (manganese, nickel, etc.) to enhance performance for high-temperature and high-pressure services.
Galvanized Steel Pipe: Coated with a protective layer of zinc to prevent rust, commonly used for water distribution and outdoor applications.
